FFKM has been designed for very demanding sealing applications in aggressive chemical environments. FFKM resists attack by nearly all chemical reagents, including organic and inorganic acids, alkalines, ketones, esters, alcohols, fuels, and hot water. FFKM offers outstanding resistance to high temperature applications to 600°F.

Polymers

PEEK
PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is a crystalline high temperature thermoplastic which offers excellent thermal and chemical resistance preperties. This combination of chemical resistance and temperature resistance makes it a great choice for many types of seals and anti-extrustion devices in equipment designed to serve the oil and gas and chemical processing industries.

Also available in 30% glass filled as well as 30% carbon fiber filled grades for added strength at temperature.

RYTON® PPS
PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) products offer the broadest resistance to chemicals of any advanced engineering plastics. They have no known solvents below 392° F and offers inertness to steam, strong bases, fuels, and acids. CTG carries PPS in unfilled, 40% glass for added strength and a bearing grade that is self lubricating. PPS has essentially zero moisture absorption and can be machined to tight tolerances.

PFTE
PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene) is a fluorocarbon-based polymer. The Teflon® brand of PTFE is manufactured only by DuPont. Several other manufacturers make their own brands of PTFE which can often by used as substitute material. This fluoroplastic family offers plastics with high chemical resistance, low and high temperature capability, resistance to weathering, low friction, electrical and thermal insulation, and "slipperiness."

PBI
PBI (polybenzimidazole) is the highest performance engineering thermoplastic available. It offers the highest heat resistance and mechanical property retention over 400° F of any unfilled plastic. It has better wear resistance and load carrying capabilities at extreme temperatures than any other reinforced or unreinforced engineering plastic.
